XI AMCO Spelling Bee Contest
On Wednesday 1st March Sant Ignasi organized for the fifth time an AMCO Spelling Bee Contest and we participated in the category of non bilingual schools.
Last Saturday 25th March students from all over Spain participated in the Grand Final of the XI AMCO Spelling Bee Contest.
5th and 6th grade students have been practicing their spelling skills for almost ten weeks in their English classes. They have been working really hard to memorize the list of 175 words the AMCO program gives us for the occasion. There were 18 contestants participating in the School Final Spelling Bee. Each fifth and sixth grade English teacher has selected the best student out of their English groups and they showed us their brilliant spelling abilities. Teachers think it is a fantastic experience that develops the academic, social and emotional abilities in students.
All the contestants got a diploma that recognizes their great achievement and their presence in the final. Our finalists are Victoria Garcia 5èB for obtaining 1st place in our 2023 School Final Spelling Bee, Marc Barenys 5èC for obtaining 2nd place and Roger Pinyol 5èC - 3rd place. They all did an outstanding job and showed everybody just how well-prepared and motivated they were!
Our finalist Victoria García from Primary 5 did an outstanding job. She had the opportunity to participate in the final stage of this contest after being placed second on the Champions Day out of many fifth and sixth grade participants from different schools in Spain. Victoria showed everybody how well prepared and motivated she is!
