We welcome 120 educators from Jesuit schools in France to Sant Ignasi

Between 13 and 16 November, more than 500 educators from Jesuit schools in France are visiting Barcelona to participate in the Barcelone 2024 programme, organised by the Fundació Jesuïtes Educació. This meeting is focused on the exchange of knowledge and experiences on Jesuit educational practices, while exploring the methods that promote comprehensive training and the support of students.

At Sant Ignasi, we have been visited by 120 educators from schools in different cities in France. This type of educational exchange brings huge value and richness to the daily work done by Jesuit schools, not only in Catalonia but all over Europe and the world.

During the visit we presented our educational proposal and organised several itineraries for guided visits to the school that allowed participants to explore the facilities and enjoy sharing experiences and joint reflection with our educators.

Tour and featured activities

The participants visited several Jesuïtes Educació schools in Barcelona and had the opportunity to experience first hand the Horitzó + project, a pedagogical model based on the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm that places the student at the centre of the learning process. This project combines academic training with attention to the emotional and personal needs of students, promoting values such as social awareness and commitment.

In addition to the educational activities, the visit included moments of coexistence and cultural exchange between the French educators and the local teaching teams. All these activities foster a dialogue about the challenges and opportunities in Jesuit education, seeking greater cohesion in the educational network of the Society of Jesus at the European level.

An International exchange event

Barcelone 2024 highlights the commitment of the Jesuit network to collaboration and joint growth, promoting the transmission of human and spiritual values through comprehensive education. This meeting seeks to inspire participants to develop new pedagogical projects with a positive impact on their educational communities and society in general.

This event represents a great opportunity to enrich the Jesuit educational model, broadening teaching perspectives and strengthening the link between schools from different countries with the same shared mission: to educate competent, aware, compassionate and committed individuals.
