This Monday, October 9, High School students had the opportunity to participate in a new activity in the MAGIS area of Secondary Pastoral. Under the title, God is not dead, he is in prison, the Jesuit Xavier Rodríguez, chaplain of the Can Brians prison for more than 10 years, has shared his testimony and experience with one of the groups most marginalized in our society: that of prisoners.
He explained with emotion the human nature of the inmates beyond their prison condition. He has also transmitted the spiritual tenderness with which the inmates approach the celebrations, the pastoral activities of the center or the moments of conversation and accompaniment with the priest. In the greater vulnerability of not having freedom or social or family relationships, imprisoned people are able to deepen spiritually in a way that is sometimes not possible in freedom. The guilt, the mourning for everything they have lost, the years they have left in prison, are personal situations that have challenged the students. Xavier Rodríguez allowed an open dialogue in the final part of the session which was very enriching. A testimony that has not left anyone indifferent and that shows that the Jesuits are people of borders and without borders.
