With the participation of 46 junior student ambassadors, 5 senior student ambassadors and 5 educators, we have now inaugurated the second year of the European Parliament Ambassador School Programme (EPAS) in Sant Ignasi.
This is a twice-yearly educational initiative that aims at increasing students’ awareness of European parliamentary democracy and the participation of young people. Through this program, students have the opportunity to learn more about the European Union (EU), its institutions, European values, and the rights of EU citizens. Additionally, students are appointed as ‘Ambassadors’ of this knowledge within the school community.
The inauguration ceremony opened with a talk about the History of Europe and the importance of the European Parliament as an institution within the EU. The talk also highlighted the concept of Global Citizenship, as we live in an interconnected world in which global issues affect us all, allowing students to develop a deeper understanding of global challenges and understand the importance of international cooperation.
