As part of our programme of tutoring activities, the 2nd year Upper Secondary students attended the Abertis Foundation's talk on road safety, given by Sebastián Lorente, renowned motivational speaker and author of the book 8 días levantándome de #BuenHumor (pub. Alienta), who can offer an incomparable testimony on this subject, given his own personal experience.
The Abertis Foundation, together with UNICEF and Institut Guttmann, is carrying out a project aimed at raising awareness among young people of the importance of responsible driving behaviour, especially in high-risk situations, such as going out at night and when the consumption of alcohol and other substances can lead to greater recklessness. Road safety - along with the promotion of culture, the environment and social action - is one of the fundamental pillars of the Abertis Foundation and this programme is included in the actions we carry out in this area.
We are convinced that prevention is the best tool to achieve our double objective of reducing as far as possible the rates of child mortality on the roads and the number of accidents, and we are committed to ensuring that each generation grows up with a greater awareness of this issue.
