On Friday 16 June, families and the faculty of educators accompanied the 281 new graduates of the class of 2023 who completed their Vocational Training at Jesuïtes Sarrià - Sant Ignasi.
The students of the different VET programmes of the professional families of Hospitality and Tourism, Physical and Sports Activities, Commerce and Marketing, Socio-cultural and Community Services, and Image and Sound, were given a farewell ceremony presided over by Josep Maria Ramón, Director General of Jesuïtes Sarrià - Sant Ignasi; Jordi Ollé, Head of Professional Studies at the school; Gabriel Artés, representative of the Alumni Association; and Ricard Dastis, Head of Human and Pastoral Training in Vocational Training.
Jordi Ollé, Head of Professional Studies, opened the ceremony by thanking the attendees and addressed a message for the future to the students "…life will present you with new challenges and new opportunities to grow and continue learning. Here you have grown as people and as professionals, may your vocation serve to better the world and the people around you…"
He then handed over to Ricard Dastis, Head of Human Development, who made a reference to Peace and the reading and reflection of the poem Life Is by Teresa of Calcuttaand gave the students the farewell advice of Calcutta's phrase "Give the world the best you have, and the best will come to you".
Then, Gabriel Artés, representative of the Alumni Association, welcomed them as new members of the Association and invited them to carry on taking part in the activities and meetings that are organised to keep the imprint of their time at Sant Ignasi alive.
Following this, the students representing the various training cycles addressed a few words to all those present, explaining their time at the school and looking to the future.
Lastly, Josep Maria Ramón, the school's director general, closed the event with 3 messages of thanks. To the students, "for letting us grow with you". To the parents, "for being there, for never giving up and for supporting you". To the team of educators "for ensuring that the pupils are at the centre and for being the lever that moves the project".
During the event, all new graduates were presented with their graduation certificates and institutional insignia, and at the end, guests were treated to a cocktail in the school's main garden.
