Cristina, mother of three students at the school, works at the Gabriel de Castilla base. She has gone to Antarctica for a few months, together with biologists and volcanic and marine scientists, to carry out a scientific research project.
The students of P3, PIN 3 (GreenPIN Team) and Year 5 and 6 Primary had a video conference with her and she explained to them what the Spanish army's Gabriel expedition consists of, and she made them participants in the objective of observation, research and preservation of the Antarctic.
During the video conference she explained to them how they study penguins, sea lions and seals. The students learnt about the importance of caring for planet Earth and protected species.
The care for the common home is one of the pillars of our educational proposal.
