Experts in the classroom at Dietetics AVET

Students doing Advanced Vocational Education and Training in Dietetics have been visited by dietician and nutritionist Rita Simorra, who delivered a talk packed with knowledge and inspiration for Year 1 students. She was accompanied by Maria Teresa, a student on the double degree in Pharmacy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics who is currently doing her internship with Rita.

Rita shared her employment experience and her exciting career journey from when she started out to the prominent position she now holds in nutrition. Her story is an example of commitment, effort and love for this profession.

"Don't be afraid during your internship; make the most of it," Rita urged. "Everywhere you work you will pick up skills which will help you in your career and most importantly your professional recommendations should be evidence-based."
