WHO DO I WANT TO BE? WHO DO I WANT TO USE MY TALENTS FOR?
In Upper Secondary Year 2, all students are introduced to the world of work through visits to a range of companies and organisations relevant to each Upper Secondary option. These visits help them to discover and cement their vocations and of course to make important decisions that will shape their career path.
This time round a group of Year 2 students visited IEC TRIALS Hospital Quirón:
The field trip to Hospital Quirón was an outstanding opportunity for Science Upper Secondary students to learn more about our potential future careers.
On the visit we saw at first-hand the experiences of professionals in various roles at the hospital which helped us to weigh up the options we have available. We also went on a guided tour of the hospital's departments which meant we could see up close how this healthcare setting operates on a daily basis.
I rate it very highly as this experience has provided me with valuable guidance and tools to clarify my options for my academic and professional future.
Júlia Magallón, Year 2 Upper Secondary F
The visit was extremely useful, especially because it gave us insight into how some of the professionals came to work in clinical research at the hospital or run the business areas involved in this field. This helped me to realise that scientific studies can lead to a wide variety of professions and are not restricted to a specific kind of job opportunities.
Plus the tour of some of the hospital's imaging facilities was also very instructive and entertaining.
