On 15 and 22 January, Year 3 TQE students took part in the DALI (Decision-Making the Ignatian Way) workshop. This is a place for personal reflection and deepening that seeks to provide tools for making decisions based on the key principles of Ignatian spirituality.
Here are the young people's accounts.
I recently went to Casal Loiola to do the DALI workshop with the school. At first I wasn't very thrilled because I thought that whatever we did there we could do at school, but I was wrong. We went along by train and there we were split up into tutorials. We did several activities and I really enjoyed being able to share them and learn from others. The one I liked the most was when we drew our life on a line and went through the events which had had the greatest impact on us (navigation chart). I took away from this workshop an experience I would like to do again, a great time and a more positive view of myself. I left the Casal as a new person eager to improve.

The other day we did the DALI workshop, which helps you in Decision-Making the Ignatian Way. What I took away from this workshop was how we thought about our lives, the past, the present and what kind of future we would like. In other words, where we are heading in the future, where we want to get to and what we want to do.
We did several activities in the time we had available. The one I liked the most was the navigation chart. This activity consisted of telling your story up to now. They were pictures/drawings that stood for moments of peace, sadness, joy and so on due to activities and/or problems you had done or had. You had to write a short text about the time for each picture. To wrap up the activity we had to put two green stickers on two moments of consolation and two red ones on moments of desolation.
It was a very interesting time to think and start getting an idea/decide what you would like to do in the future. It helped me a lot and I hope there will be more in the future.

The DALI workshop was a very special experience in which we got to know more about ourselves. It helped me to think about my life up to that point, as if it were a journey in which I could pinpoint the good and the difficult times. Creating the navigational chart enabled me to see the difficult times as storms and understand how I had weathered them. It also helped me to appreciate the positive parts and acknowledge all that I had learned along the way. Finally, a song brought the event to a close. It was a very special day and a nice break from our daily routine.

The DALI workshop at Casal Loiola helped us to learn more about ourselves and understand the emotions we have experienced throughout our lives. The activity involving sticking icons on the path of our life was a visual way of seeing our journey, while the stickers of consolation and desolation got us to think about the difficult and happy times we have had. At the end, we grasped the need to stop and think about everything we have been through. This experience made us feel stronger, aware of our emotions and better prepared to confidently face the future.

We did the activity at the Casal Loiola, an Ignatian venue for meeting and human, social and spiritual growth aimed especially at children, teenagers and young people. The workshop also explained to the students the purpose of the place and the activities held there.
