The Florida State Department of Education has once again secured the top spot in the US educational rankings. This international acclaim is largely due to initiatives like the Dual Diploma program, pioneered by Academica International Studies, located in Miami.
Sant Ignasi, being part of the Dual Diploma network, has been commended by @academicaspainfor its role in this achievement and for enhancing the dedication to excellence and global outreach.
During the pre-graduation event for the class of 2024 in Madrid, we were honoured to meet Florida's Education Minister, Mr. Manny Diaz Jr., and Academica Spain's President, Mr. José Luis Martínez de Urbina.
Starting in the 2020-2021 academic year, Sant Ignasi provides students with the opportunity to pursue a Dual High School Diploma.
The Dual Baccalaureate Diploma is an official programme for the international convalidation of high school diplomas created and developed by AcademicaInternational Studies, which allows students to obtain two simultaneous qualifications: the qualification in their own country (the Spanish baccalaureate), and the American High School Diploma.
The own high school diploma is completed in person at a local school, while the American High School Diploma is pursued through online courses.
At Sant Ignasi, we have three possible pathways: one starting in the 2nd year of ESO, one starting in 3rd year of ESO, and the last starting in the 4th year of ESO.
Preparing students for new challenges
The Dual Diploma is an interdisciplinary programme that prepares students to acquire the best levels of competence based on three objectives:
• Linguistic immersion in English: The programme is carried out 100% in English, but it goes far beyond learning the language. Students think and work in English.
• Technological immersion (digital learning): Working on a virtual platform, students play an active role, set their own pace of learning, are responsible for building their knowledge and are the protagonists of their own learning process.
• Personal immersion (self-management, responsibility and maturity): The student acquires responsibility and maturity in work, with a high level of autonomy, learning time management, adaptability and flexibility to work in different and multicultural environments.
